1 May 2008 - MAY NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents/Carers,

This newsletter is coming out a little earlier than usual to remind you that the school will be closed on Monday 21st April as this is a Spring Holiday.

P7 Outdoor Education:

The P7 pupils had a superb time at school camp last month. Here is a short quote from Amanda Ross:

‘This year’s primary seven class went to Dalguise up in Perthshire on the 10th of March for 5 days and had a ball! We stayed in a large chalet and took part in lots of activities each day. I think the class became closer as we were sharing dorms and spending all of our time together. It was by far the highlight of our primary school experience and a great way to end the year.’

P7 Yearbook:

This term, Primary 7 pupils will be compiling a Yearbook of memories and information about their time at Fox Covert.  We are looking for photos and written memories to help us put together a variety of pages.  If you have anything you would like to contribute, please mark all photos and memories with your child’s full name and send to school FAO Mrs Simpson.

Charities & Fundraising:

·        The Parent Council Sponsored Bounce raised a whopping £1,022.92. This will certainly help to boost their funds. Thank you to everyone who supported this event.

·        The recent Scholastic Book Fair enabled the school to choose £160 worth of books for our library from the commission on books sold. Thank you again for supporting the school in this way.

·        Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our Easter Service. The collection raised £57.90 for CHAS.

·        Our last Dress Down Day on Thursday 20th March raised £69.  The next Dress Down Day will be on Friday 25th April.
