Pyramid Poems

Primary 5 have been working together to write Pyramid Poems all about Summer. We hope you enjoy reading them.

Summer

Gracefully,
Rising heavenly,
The beautiful horizon,
Slowly and peacefully moving,
Silently shining through the trees,
A glowing firefly in the sky

Summer

Sunshine,
Brightly shining,
Beautiful golden glaze,
Cool blackcurrent icelolly melting,
Fresh smell of cut grass,
Lovely joyful feeling of sunny weather.

Summer

Quietly,
Effortlessly peaceful,
A gentle touch,
Of sparkling golden sunshine,
From high in the sky,
Where delicate birds slowly fly.

Summer

Heavenly,
Peaceful beach,
Beautiful and calm,
Sunny and warm day,
Happily paddling, the sun shining,
Blue sea, cooling my scorching feet.

Summer

Happily,
Wandering along,
Searching for creatures,
The amazing blistering beach,
Colourful crashing and sparkling waves,
The golden sand feels very relaxing.

Summer

Lovely,
Golden rays,
Sparkly sea glistening,
Sunshine and roaring sea,
When hitting the stony shore,
Happily I watch the lovely scene.

Summer

Peaceful,
Summer day,
Always incredibly uplifting,
To me and can,
Brighten the dimmest darkest corner,
Hope in my already fragile heart.

Summer

Beautifully,
Summery quietly,
Roasting day out,
In the heavenly garden,
The beautiful flowers blowing softly,
The petals blow slowly to the ground.

Summer

When
I think
of summer I
think about having fun,
Playing in the glistening sun,
Next to the beautiful shiny sea.

Summer

The,
Warm sun,
Is so lovely,
The flowers are blowing,
The heavenly sun shining brightly,
The sun shining on my back.

Some Imaginative Writing about Space

Today, scientists found out that Jupiter, the biggest planet of all, has shrunk. It is now smaller than Pluto! The scientists believe that it started shrinking at midnight. It is now smaller than all the other planets. Saturn is now the biggest.

Some people believe that Saturn got closer and made chips in Jupiter. Others believe that it became damp and shrank because it was damp.

The head of the aliens said, "I don't know how it happened. We just woke up this morning and we could see the other side of the planet, which is unusual because it is so huge."

Nobody knows how or why it shrank. It's a mystery!

Robert Murray visited the moon and spotted a creature which he named a moonlin. It was a blob on the surface with eyes and a smile. The creature was grey. This event happened at 2.05pm on 1.11.05. Murray was with his fellow astronauts Sarah Smith and Terry Black at the time. He took some snapshots of the moonlin with his camera.

"I chose the name moonlin like they chose the name martian after the planet Mars," explained Murray. "I will definitely be having a lot more journeys into space, but out of the four times I have visited space, that was by far my favourite and most exciting one," reported Murray.

Amanda

"People of Earth, turn on your speech devices. Mars has begun to be unliveable. So as a close and perfect planet we beg you to let us come onto your planet. We are great Christmas trees. We are also great camouflage. Please let us come!"

Michael

"Hello, people of this planet called Earth. Don't walk away on your own two walkers, or as you call them, legs. Listen! Our planet Ramboros is being blown up. Mercury has enough life forms and Jupiter, Mars and Pluto and all the other planets are orange , purple or blue. They think it is not right to have green people on their planets. So we are asking you, please.

We glow in the dark. If you run out of electricity, we are here to help you. Please! We are really funny and are great cooks. Tht is if you like eyeball, liver and squashed arm. But I'm sure we'll be able to cook your stuff.

Remember not to smoke!"

Mollie

Just this morning, Saturn lost its ring. It all happened this morning at six o'clock as I was in space looking at the stars with my friends. Some scientists believe that it is just in camouflage. Others think the ring just floated off. Now, without its ring, Saturn is just like all the other planets. It sort of blew away like a balloon that had just burst.

Some children wrote poems beginning with prepositions
On the trees the spiders crawl.
In the mud the worms slither.
Above the clouds the birds fly.
Beside the setts the leaves blow.
Behind the stones the slugs drift , leaving their shiny silver trail.
Up in the sky the sun emerges, waking all the animals.
Under the ground,
In the burrows, new baby rabbits are born.
In the daytime, the animals travel
Into the beautiful woodlands to get ready for the night.

Katie
Under a branch,
In a tree, sits a blue tit, dreaming about her babies
In the wild.
Next to a rock a scorpion shreds up lots of poor little, defenceless bugs.
On a leaf, a caterpillar happily eats lots of little bits of it.

My Invention

At last! I have finished my invention. It looks like an alien made out of metal and I love it. It can make chocolate. All you do is give it a hug, but if it doesn't know you it says, "Please put 50p in my hand."

Amy, my sister, started screaming when she first saw it, but I told her that it made chocolate. She gave it a hug and it made her favourite chocolate -chocolate buttons! Then I gave it a hug and it made maltesers. When I saw my brother behind me, I said, "You can't get any chocolate because of your braces."

It was night and I was asleep, but I woke because of a bad dream. I went to check on my alien, but he was gone. I looked in David?s room, but he was asleep. I looked outside and saw melted chocolate and all the metal I made him out of. He was squashed!I went inside and went back to bed, so upset.

In the morning, I went into the kitchen and saw a boy like an alien. It was my invention. He was real! He told me what had happened. The moon had melted him and turned him into a real alien.

Paradise Island

It has been a long four weeks to get to Paradise Island. We still have about another hour to go. I really do hope it is actually a paradise island, with a sparkling ocean and lovely sand - such a beautiful colour. And with juicy tropical fruits and palm trees with leaves as green as possible.

I can see Paradise Island! So here I am. I have no idea why it is called Paradise Island, because there are skeletons, the sand is all mucky, there are bottles and tin sand bones scattered all around and some animal fur.

I can't believe this! I have travelled for twenty eight days and twenty seven nights before arriving, and this is what's left of a paradise.
